National Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Management, 30–31 January 2015

We have immense pleasure to inform you that the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Calicut in collaboration with the C.H.M.K. Library, University of Calicut and Kerala Library Association (KLA) Kozhikode Region is organizing a Two-Day National Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Management during 30-31 January 2015.  Knowledge has become the key strategic asset for the 21st Century.  Knowledge Management is a rapidly growing field with immense potential.  Effective Knowledge Management is becoming a core competence and a key to the success of contemporary organizations.  However, it is being observed that, while knowledge has been acknowledged as source of competitive advantage, it has not been managed well in organizations.  Knowledge Discovery is a non-trivial process of identifying valid, novel, potentially useful, and ultimately understandable patterns from large collections of data.  The explosive growth of the Internet and the widespread use of large databases have drastically increased the volume and complexity of data to be mined, leading researchers to explore new ways to glean non-trivial data automatically.  The developments of Knowledge Discovery and Management in recent years have become the key concern for librarians and libraries.
